Michael Richards was born in Wales (UK) and received his undergraduate and master's degree in History & Politics and Political Theory (respectively) from Cardiff University, Wales. He moved to the United States in 2011 and became a US citizen in 2014. He is now a graduate student in Political Theory in the Department of Political Science at Rutgers University, New Brunswick.

Michael's research interests include American Political Thought, Normative Ethics, Women & Politics, and the History of Political Thought. He taught classes on The Nature of Politics and American Political Theory for the Department of Political Science in New Brunswick and Newark, and taught Introductions to Ethics for the Rutgers Philosophy Department in New Brunswick. His dissertation research is focused upon the idea of responsibility and its role in theories of liberalism. He is simultaneously researching the political thinking of the African-American leader and educator, Booker T.
